Del Norte Coast Redwood SP features spots for 145 RV’s or tents. Trailer length up to 27 feet and RVs up to 31 feet length are allowed. The camp is 2 miles east of the highway.
The Del Norte Coast Redwood State Park has 6400 acres of which approximately 50% is old growth redwood.

Jedediah Smith Redwood State Park

Jedediah Smith State Park is stocked with towering old growth redwoods. There are 20 miles of hiking and nature trails plus fishing for salmon and steelhead during their fall and winter runs.

There are 89 camping and RV sites (no hookups) are available at the park. Amenities include a boat launch ramp, swimming, and accessible restrooms. Reservations can be made online.

Tolowa Dunes State Park

The 5,000 acre Tolowa Dunes State Park and the 6,134 acre Lake Earl Wildlife Area are some of the finest wetlands habitats in the state.

The Tolowa Dunes State Park is located north and south of the Lake Earl Wildlife Area.

There are two primitive campgrounds and includes a ride-in horse camp within the State Park. Off road, or ATV use is not allowed.

Ruby Van Deventer Park

The Ruby Van Deventer Park is a county operated park located near the Jedediah Smith Redwood State Park. There are 18 campsites and a group picnic area. Reservations are not available for these sites.

The Smith River is about 50 yards away, offering swimming, kayaking, and seasonal trout and salmon fishing. Pets on leashes are allowed at the park.

This park is perfect for those cycling the coast who want to visit the California Redwoods at the nearby Jedediah Smith Redwood State Park which is sometimes fully booked in-season.

Access to the park if from Rt 197, which cuts from north of Crescent City and US Highway 101, over to Rt 199 and the Redwoods.

Florence Keller Regional Park

Florence Keller Regional Park is a county park located in a second growth California Redwood Forest. The park offers 50 camping, hiking and RV spots and can accommodate vehicles up to 32 feet. The facilities include rest rooms, water, a group picnic area and their location immediately off of Highway Route 101 makes it convenient for weary hikers and cyclers. There are 7 easy walking trails within the site. Crescent City is located nearby, a short distance to the south.

Redwood National and State Parks Information Center

This information center is located a short distance west of US Route 101 and is full of information on the area attractions in the Redwood National Forests. The people working at this center are extremely helpful and knowledgeable. They have maps and other hand outs plus first hand information about where to visit, depending on your interests.
