Ride or Rent an ATV Dunebuggy Quad
Near Reedsport – Coos Bay, Oregon
Reedsport is the center of the fabulous Dunes Recreations area and is therefore, the ATV dunebuggy capital of the Pacific coast.
The Oregon Dunes Visitor Center is located in Reedsport on Route 101, 855 Highway Avenue, and has information, interpretive exhibits and an introductory video. Rental Off-Highway Vehicles, (OHV), are available from private concessions along the coast. Information is available at the Visitor Center.
The largest riding area at the Oregon Dunes is located between Spinreel and Horsfall campgrounds, south of Reedsport. Horsfall Road leads to Horsfall dunes and a beach access. Another access is Hauser Sand Road, which links the Horsfall dunes to the beach.
For those who do not own an ATV, there are several vendors who rent dunebuggy quads in the area. The professional employees take the time to train novices in their safe use so that anyone can explore these amazing dunes and beaches like an expert.
Reedsport – Winchester Bay area is home to the famous Dune Fest. Dune Fest is located along the dunes just south of Winchester Bay and is held in early August.
Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area Visitors Center
The Oregon Dunes Information Center has visitor information, interpretive exhibits and an introductory video. Helpful guides can answer questions about camping, hiking, sightseeing, fishing, ATV – dunebuggy riding, and RV parks.

Spinreel Campground
Spinreel Campground is designed for ATV, dunebuggy, quad campers and has 36 sites for tents, autos and trailers. Drinking water and flush toilets are available. There is direct sand access to a large off-highway vehicle riding area.
Spinreel Campground is located 11 miles south of Reedsport, Oregon, and 13 miles north of Coos Bay on Spinreel Road.
Spinreel Road is just south of Lakeside and Tenmile Creek.

Half Moon Bay Campground
Half Moon Bay is a county run campground is designed for the off-road enthusiast and is located next to the Dunes National Recreation Area. The campground is near the beaches and the Umpqua Lighthouse.
There are 45 individual campsites for ATV, dunebuggy, quad owners, of which 13 are reservable; and five reservable group sites. To make reservations, please call The Douglas County Park Headquarters Office at 541-957-7001, between the hours of 10:00am and 2:00pm, Monday through Friday.
Half Moon Bay is located 4 miles south of Reedsport, Oregon, in Winchester Bay.

Windy Cove A RV Campground
Windy Cove A campsites are not reservable. There are 24 full hook-up sites. Showers and Cable TV are available. Windy Cove A information is available on the Douglas County website (541-271-4138).
There is ATV access to the dunes and they may be used until 10 PM.
Windy Cove A caters to ATV, dunebuggy, quad owners and is located adjacent to Salmon Harbor at Winchester Bay, Oregon, via Hwy 101, 4 miles south of Reedsport.

Windy Cove B RV Campground
Windy Cove B campground has 40 full hook-up sites, of which 22 are reservable; and 29 non hook-up sites, of which 8 are reservable. Showers and cable TV are available. To make reservations for the reservable sites, call the Douglas County Park Department Headquarters office at 541-957-7001, between the hours of 10:00am and 2:00pm, Monday through Friday.

Horsfall OHV Campgrounds
Horsfall OHV Campground and Horsfall Beach OHV Campground are designed for off-highway (ATV, dune buggy, quad, sand rail) vehicle oriented camping. Both are located in the same general area of the Oregon Dunes, just north of Coos Bay / North Bend.
The beach campground offers day use access to the beach with excellent views of the Pacific Ocean.
Facilities include ATV access, fishing, flush restrooms, and drinking water. Shower facilities are located in the campground, only, but may also be used by those staying at the beach campground.

Getting there: From North Bend, travel north on route 101 for 1.5 miles. From Reedsport, travel south for 22 miles. Turn west at the Horsfall Dunes and Beach road sign at Jordan Cove Road and proceed 1 mile, turning right on Transpacific Highway. Travel 100 feet, turning right on Horsfall Beach Road.
The Horsfall OHV Campground is a few hundred feet on the right. The Horsfall Beach OHV Campground is 3 miles further down Horsfall Beach Road.
