{"id":466,"date":"2018-03-04T15:33:56","date_gmt":"2018-03-04T20:33:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/orcalcoast.com\/?page_id=466"},"modified":"2020-06-07T15:59:41","modified_gmt":"2020-06-07T19:59:41","slug":"driving-map","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/orcalcoast.com\/index.php\/driving-map\/","title":{"rendered":"Driving Map"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Driving Map to the Southern Oregon and Northern California Coasts<\/h2>\n<p>Want to get to the coast? \u00a0There are a limited number of ways because the coastal mountain range limits access. \u00a0But these same mountain ranges keep the coast mostly wild and natural. \u00a0But getting here is easier than it may seem as there are good roads leading to four major routes.<\/p>\n<p>Be careful about using GPS maps as they may list scenic routes that are really Forest Service roads with limited maintenance and no winter driving. \u00a0Taking one of those routes may not only be difficult, but dangerous and vehicles without high clearance may find passage impossible.<\/p>\n<h3>The Top Route #1 &#8211; Portland \/ Eugene to the Coast<\/h3>\n<p>55 miles and 1 hour from I-5 to Reedsport.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>From Portland \/ Eugene, take I-5 south towards Roseburg.<\/li>\n<li><span class=\"renderable-component\"><span class=\"renderable-component-text renderable-component-text-not-line\">Take exit <\/span><\/span><span class=\"renderable-component\"><span class=\"renderable-component-text renderable-component-text-not-line renderable-component-bold\">162<\/span><\/span><span class=\"renderable-component\"><span class=\"renderable-component-text renderable-component-text-not-line\"> for <\/span><\/span><span class=\"renderable-component\"><span class=\"renderable-component-text renderable-component-text-not-line renderable-component-bold\">OR-38<\/span><\/span><span class=\"renderable-component\"><span class=\"renderable-component-text renderable-component-text-not-line\">\/<\/span><\/span><span class=\"renderable-component\"><span class=\"renderable-component-text renderable-component-text-not-line renderable-component-bold\">OR-99<\/span><\/span><span class=\"renderable-component\"><span class=\"renderable-component-text renderable-component-text-not-line\"> toward <\/span><\/span><span class=\"renderable-component\"><span class=\"renderable-component-text renderable-component-text-not-line renderable-component-bold\">Drain<\/span><\/span><span class=\"renderable-component\"><span class=\"renderable-component-text renderable-component-text-not-line\">\/<\/span><\/span><span class=\"renderable-component\"><span class=\"renderable-component-text renderable-component-text-not-line renderable-component-bold\">Elkton.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"renderable-component\"><span class=\"renderable-component-text renderable-component-text-not-line\">stay on <\/span><\/span><span class=\"renderable-component\"><span class=\"renderable-component-text renderable-component-text-not-line renderable-component-bold\">OR-38 W (leave OR-99) towards Reedsport.
